Went out for what I guess will be my last session before Xmas. Forecast was suggesting 35 knots or so and so I took the 4.0m.

When I walked over with Al it was only just over 20 knots so Al took the 5.7m but I went for my 5.0m which seemed to be a mistake in hindsight but my 5.7m is a freewave and not as tough as my 5.0m.

Anyway on the water and yes I was a bit under-powered so just went out until I stalled/got taken down then waterstarted and rode the waves back in on the inside. Started trying some backside riding and turning on the heels back up into the wave and letting it push the board around and back down the face, which was fun.

Went further and further towards the point with each run as I thought I'd go into the channel and then the estuary. Couldn't see Al out anymore so went to see if he was packing up and then got the car down to the estuary and went back over the front from there to get my kit.

Found that the lagoon by the point was working so had quite a ffew runs out there where it was flatter and then sailed into the main channel. I was still a bit under-powered so hopped over the point and into the estauary thinking I'd change up to my 5.7m for some flat water sailing.

Beforte I got to the car the wind filled in to a solid 25 knots with some bug gusts so I just blasted up and down the speed channel for an hour or so, which was great fun. Tried lots of flat out gybes going for strap to strap style but I was turning too fast and ended up too far into the wind after flipping the rig, must flip earlier.

Ended with some really strong gusts that took me right up wind and back near to the car. So a good work out in the end.

The waves were a bit too big for me today so didn't go out the back, but still a good session. And so warm for December, 12C and back at home in the dark to unload, 13C. This I like.
